EXCERPT FROM SILVER LININGS:
"Wait," she blocked his path to the door, "I slaved over a special dessert. Couldn't you stay a few minutes more?"
Jack shook his head. "Screw dessert. I'm going.”
“You wouldn’t dare.” Rachel said.
“Try me. You'll find I'm not the saint my brother was. Move aside." Seeing the stubborn set of Rachel's chin and her slender arms hugging her chest in defense, Jack’s resolve faded away.
Her eyes revealed a sorrow that weighed her down. A hint of the vanilla soap she used scented the air. It permeated her skin and clothing, the sofa, the curtains, everything. Worst of all, it infused his nostrils with the sweetness of that damn appealing fragrance. Standing face to face, the close invitation of her lips made his tough guy mask melt. His lips swooped in and brushed hers in a slow shivery kiss. When she softened, the kiss grew wild with desire and longing as Jack’s hands wove through her hair and mussed it.
Rachel sensed his eagerness as their bodies wobbled and touched. She let out an audible sigh.
Did he think it would be that easy to seduce her?
